Thank you for your interest in joining my lab! I am taking on PhD students on a rolling basis. In particular we are looking for exceptional and highly motivated applicants who have a strong background in mathematics/statistics and optimization. Unfortunately however, I do not always have time to reply to inquiries from prospective students.
If you are interested in applying for a Ph.D. position in our group and have (or expect to obtain soon) an M. Sc. degree or equivalent:

• I currently have open PhD positions for creative and committed minds with an exceptionally strong mathematical background (high-dimensional statistics, optimization, probability theory, functional analysis from the mathematics department - or if you can easily follow the slides of this course ) and passion for proving theoretical results that are interesting from a practical point of view. Please submit an application through the department's admission system and send me an email containing your CV
• if you are interested in a joint PhD with MPI Tuebingen/Stuttgart, please also consider applying to the CLS PhD program
• if you are interested in interdisciplinary research (e.g. medical domain or scientific discovery, climate change), please consider applying to the AI center fellowship

If you do not have an M.Sc., you may apply to the Direct Doctorate in Computer Science and express specific interest in our research group in your application
